Update From the TNTBA Board of Directors - May 24
First of all, we want to let you know how much we miss seeing everyone – this is going to be a summer like no other, for sure!  We also want to thank-you for your patience and understanding as we try to navigate through this uncertain time and endeavor to make the best decisions possible to have the most positive impact on our players, coaches and their supporters (that would be everyone else) moving forward.

We held a Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, May 21st for the TNTBA and have made a couple of tentative decisions, but unfortunately, nothing definite yet regarding the 2020 Baseball Season.

Although the Town of New Tecumseth has cancelled all of their field/diamond bookings until September 7th, they did leave the door open to reconsider this decision depending on the Government of Ontario recommendations over the next few months, and we have been told that should the government allow small gatherings of up to 10 and permit youth sports again provided that all requirements on physical distancing can be met, the town can have the diamonds ready in 3 days and would approve rental permits for small practice groups/clinics – which may be something we can look forward to later this summer.

The Ontario Baseball Association and the York Simcoe Baseball Association have not made any final decisions yet regarding the 2020 season and we have decided as a Board that we should wait until both the OBA and the YSBA make their decisions before making our final decision.

OBA has now revised the date for a decision to June 15, 2020 – although this may be delayed again depending on the government guidelines and the outlook at the time.  If you would like to listen to the President of Ontario Baseball, Ed Quinlan, with more information on their operational update, please watch their 3 part video series by clicking here.

Again, we thank you for your patience in this matter and sincerely hope that everyone is staying happy and healthy and optimistic and we look forward to being able to get together soon – in one way or another – to potentially play some ball.

There were more details included in the email from the TNTBA Board to all the families of players, but if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to any of the board members or your head coach or manager.
