Phase 2 - Update from the Town of New Tecumseth and Baseball Ontario
Submitted By Sonia James on Sunday, June 14, 2020
The Town of New Tecumseth and Baseball Ontario have updated their COVID-19 policy to accommodate the Province's Stage 2 of the Framework of Reopening.

The Town has indicated that "Park staff will begin preparing fields for use in July.  This includes soccer and baseball fields for outdoor team sports for training only and with no games or scrimmages.  Physical distancing of at least 2 meters, and all health protocols must be practiced by all users at all times.  It is the responsiblity of all permit holders to ensure that health protocols and guidelines are followed."

The Ontario Baseball Association has sent out a press release indicating that they "will not be extending the suspension of in-person activities.  Therefore, as of June 16, 2020, in-person baseball activities can resume, pending observance of provincial and municipal rules and restrictions."As such, the Board of TNTBA and the coaching staff are working through the OBA Return to Sport Protocol and devising a tentative plan for practices and training.

All the information and resources with respect to Baseball Ontario's Return to Baseball Protocol are available through their ONDeck platform that is available by clicking here, or you can download the ONDeck mobile app available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

We highly recommend that you download the app and review the suggested protocols.  Part of the requirement moving forward is tracking attendance, which will be done through this app.

Information will be posted here as it becomes available and decisions are made.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to your Head Coach if you have any quesitons.
